To the third through sixth grade classes of Agudus Achim Religious School, under the direction of Rabbi Tracy Klirs, the meaning of "Middle East Peace Quilt" is simple. We teach "Mitzvot" each month; this month our "Mitzvot" is "Rodef Shalom", (to pursue the peace). We teach that the pursuit of peace is one of the most God-like things we can do. Peace doesn't just happen. We need to seek out peace and make it happen. Discussing and contributing to the Middle East Peace Quilt for this lesson plan was a great way for the children to think of the peace process in the MIddle East, and a wholeness in the world.
