Peace, to me, is a mutual process. Like a tango, it is a dance that cannot be performed by a single person. Achieving peace requires three essential actions: 1) to articulate clearly your feelings, needs and desires; 2) to hear-really hear-the feelings, needs and desires of your partner in the peacemaking dance; and 3) to strive together towards the common shared goal of peace.
Like any dance, toes will be stepped on and steps will be missed, but as long as neither partner leaves the dance floor, finding peace together will be possible.
